Serving God

Serving God can bring such enjoyment and gratification. On the other hand, when serving God, one may struggle with sadness, depression, disappointment, and discouragement. At times, working for God can feel like we’re alone and isolated. As we serve God, sometimes we’re misunderstood, ridiculed, despised and even hated for our commitment to Him. Yet Jesus said we are blessed!

Matthew 5:11-12, NKJVBlessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

When we are experiencing those emotions and being attacked for our service to God, take courage in His Holy Word. Let us remind ourselves why we do what we do. Beloved, why do you serve God? I serve God because I love Him. I serve God because I owe Him! I serve God because He is God, my Father, and Creator! My sister, what is your reason for serving God?

Deuteronomy 6:5, NKJV You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 10:20, NKJVYou shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast

When reading through the Gospels, we see how Jesus experienced much sorrow, disappointments, loneliness, and more. He was misunderstood, detested, and even murdered. However, Jesus never lost sight of the cross. He never got distracted from His assignment. Yes, He was faced with oppositions, but He steadied the course. He kept His eyes on the Father, and so should we.

Sisters, serving the Lord can be downright hard at times. But if we keep our focus on God and remember why we serve Him, we will be able to rejoice and be exceedingly glad on this wearisome – yet exciting – journey!

It’s Wednesday – Hump Day! Here’s a biblical principle to help us over the hump.

Deuteronomy 10:20-21, AMP20 You shall fear [and worship] the Lord your God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect]; you shall serve Him and cling to Him [hold tightly to Him, be united with Him], and you shall swear [oaths] by His name. 21 He is your praise and glory; He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which you have seen with your own eyes.

LET’S WALK IN FREEDOM TOGETHER & IMPACT THE WORLD!
